German Phonebooks on CDs
Immigrant Genealogical Society has CDs which include all
telephone subscribers in Germany as of 2001. It includes the
many new telephones installed in eastern Germany since
reunification.
___ 1. If you know the name of the village from which your
ancestors came, we can search the village (and the surrounding
postal code or telephone prefix code) for persons of one surname.
We will provide up to 25 names and addresses, and enclose a
German-English letter for your correspondence.
Fee - US$11.00
___ 2. If you do not know the name of the village from which
your ancestor came, we will give you a count of how many times
your surname appears in each "zip code" area. We will print out
a list of 25 person from the area where your surname is most
common, and enclose a German-English letter for correspondence.
Fee - US$11.00
___ 3. We can search for an individual phone subscriber
throughout Germany, if the name is not too common.
Fee - US$9.00
We cannot search for surnames by state or county--only by town
name, local postal code, or phone prefix.
Searches for a very common surname, such as Müller, Meyers
or Schmidt, are not very helpful unless you can specify one
village or local area.
Did you check which search above?
